The life lesson in the last chapters of this book are parallel due to the adventure of Into The Wild author, Jon Krakauer and Chris McCandleless. The first life lesson shown was in chapter 15 when Jon was climbing Devil's Thumb, he faced a challenge in which he did not give up just like Chris did in the Alaskan wild. However, the lesson you learn from Jon is one person must be careful when they face extreme circumstances and Chris thought you could get by on luck. This teaches people to prepare for the unexpected when going out in harsh conditions. The other life lesson is one that Chris learns just before his death. He soon realizes it was an overreaction to leave his family and friends and he wished to spend more of his life with and around them, especially his sister. Although happy with his ending, he definately changed his mind about society and he wished to re-enter it. So we can learn from Jon and Chris's experiences and revalations that came to them in times of need.
